History - It was one of the most precious oils in ancient times, used only by priests, kings, or high initiates. In the New Testament Mary of Bethany used a salve of spikenard to anoint the feet of Jesus. "Then took Mary a pound of ointment of Spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment."
Effects on the Mind - Highly regarded as a calming, sedative, stabilizing oil. Helps sooth the deepest forms of anxiety.
Effects on the Body - Reportedly regenerates functions of skin layers, healing skin problems.
